Technology In Education

Guiding Questions on Technology:
How does technology help support meeting your students needs?
Do you feel that technology sometimes hinders the learning process? If so how?
With the different layers of technology, what applications are most useful to you? What applications are not useful to you?
Is technology leadership a shared function within the district or does it primarily reside in one person?
What percentage of technology-related expenditures go toward educator professional development?
 What percentage of the technologies purchased by the district were primarily student-centric (as opposed to teacher-centric)?
When was the last time (if ever) that students were asked about their experiences using (or not using) technology in their classes? What did they say?
How many minutes per week, on average, do students use digital technologies as part of their classroom learning experiences (and how do they spend those minutes)?
MAC or PC?

    What about physical education? Can modern technology be used on the playing field and/or in the gym? Could you video record students practicing skills? Timing of races? Have you given this much thought?

    My sense is that you a wary of technology in education. I'm a skeptic myself, although I have certainly experienced technology being used effectively as a student over the last year. Although, where do teachers find the time to search for all these videos and cartoons?
